How do avalanche transceiver checkpoints work?

Switch your transceiver on and walk past the checkpoint at normal speed, keeping a distance of 1 to 2 metres. If you’re in a group, make sure to maintain a distance of ca. 5 metres from each other so that the beacon of each group member is checked.

If the device flashes red, your transceiver is not switched on or is not sending its signal. In this case, be sure to do a function check and fix the problem before heading out into the open terrain.
If the device flashes green, your beacon is OK and transmitting correctly.
