Sailing in the Alps? What might not seem like a good match at first glance turns out to be a "perfect match". Lake Achensee not only has the requisite winds, but also boasts spectacular scenery. If you are new to sailing, Lake Achensee is a great place to learn the basics. The wind conditions are usually ideal for sailing and sometimes challenging. The light southerly winds (1-2 Beaufort) in the morning and the strong northerly winds (3-5 Beaufort) in the afternoon require strength, coordination and courage to manoeuvre the boats across the water. By the way, Lake Achensee regularly plays host to international regattas.

The infrastructure at Lake Achensee provides sailing enthusiasts of all abilities with everything they need to get out on the water. There are sailing schools at Lake Achensee where you can book courses and lessons with professional instructors.
